Wisdom
Daily readings of wisdom.
Daily readings of the wisdom of David, Solomon, James and Jesus from these six books: Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Matthew, John and James. In one year if you read every day you will have read through:
Proverbs: Six times
Ecclesiastes: Four times
Psalms: Two times
Matthew: Two times
John: Two times
James: Four times

Why not the whole Bible?
We certainly are not trying to diminish the wisdom one would gain by reading through the Bible. But, it's a big commitment to read through the whole Bible in one year. These wisdom readings are smaller giving you a greater chance of completing them. Even if you miss some days, by the end of a year you may have completed all of the books since they are presented in their entirety, some more than the others, at least twice throughout the year.
Why these six books?
Because these six books provide practical principles you can begin using immediately to make a positive difference in your life.

Proverbs: the wisdom of Solomon.
Listening to him gives you a glimpse into the heart of God.

Psalms: the wisdom of David
David was called a man after God's own heart. The psalms are an open window into the heart of God.

Ecclesiastes: more wisdom from Solomon.
We all relate to Solomon but sometimes are afraid to say so.

Matthew: the wisdom and life of Jesus,
The son of God.

John: more wisdom from and about Jesus Christ
From a different perspective.

James: wisdom about Jesus
The application of the teaching of Jesus to life.

This isn't to say the rest of the Bible isn't important. The other books of the Bible contain history, prophecy and doctrine that you won't get from these six wisdom books, and yes, it's all great and life-changing reading.

Why these five versions of the Bible?
Because there is no copyright on these versions: King James, American Standard, World English Bible, Open English Bible and NET Bible. The King James version has long been the standard for scholarship; the others are more modern translations.
